Voting in Vienna

The municipal council election will take place in Vienna on October 11, 2020.

People aged 16 and over and with Austrian citizenship have the opportunity to have a say in how the 100 seats in the Vienna City Council are divided between the various parties.

The district council is also elected. For each district there are an additional 40 to 60 seats which will be distributed by the October 11th election. Donaustadt is a very large district, so there are 60 seats in the municipal council.

EU citizens living in Vienna are also allowed to vote for the municipal council.
